Recut any lawn edges if necessary or install lawn edging to make future maintenance easier.

Install a new pond or water feature.

Now is the right time to start laying new turf.

Get rid of slimy patches on patios and paving by scrubbing with a broom or blasting with a pressure washer.

Install water butts for the season ahead. Position them under a down pipe to make the most or the rainfall.

Scrub watering cans to prevent fungal diseases.

Top Tip:

Fertilise your beds. Once soil is workable, dis 5cm layer of compost or well-rotted manure into your beds to prepare them for the growing season ahead. You can work in a general-purpose fertiliser, such as pelleted chicken manure or fish, blood and bone.
