Looking After Your Lawn In March

Mow your lawn if it needs it. Choose a dry day and set your blades higher than usual.

Recut any lawn edges if necessary.

Prepare soil for growing new lawn from soil. Doing this now allows it time to settle before sowing.

Lay new turf if the ground isn’t frozen or waterlogged.

Install lawn edging to make future maintenance easier.

Now is the ideal time to carry out any patch repairs needed within your lawn, if any areas are thin or bare. Rake the area and remove dead grass and thatch and prepare the soil for seeding, then apply seed and soil mix followed by regular watering.

Top Tip:

Following the last few cold months you may find moss within your lawn. If ground conditions are suitable rake out any patches of moss and add some seed to the area to help improve lawn density.
