Wildlife In The Garden In July

Make sure your bird baths are topped up in hot weather.

Clean and sterilise your bird feeders and tables.

Put out hedgehog food as the young will be born soon.

Encourage all the insects you can! Female bats need to eat lots of insects to feed themselves and their pups.

Use wildlife-friendly slug pellets.

Top Tip:
Look after your aphid eaters! Ladybirds, hoverflies and lacewings feed on greenfly and blackfly. It’s worth protecting them.

This Month's Key Tips

  • Cut back growth in hanging baskets to revive the display.
  • Protect any developing fruit from birds and squirrels by placing netting around your plants.
